Miss Lin
The world-class hacker others see
Sits across from me at our favorite restaurant
One hand twirling spaghetti, the other swiping through OpenAI reports
Then she looks up and asks me cautiously, wondering if she seems too strange
Cute as a little kitten
Today I picked out a gorgeous dress for her
She shyly weaves through the crowd while I follow behind holding an umbrella, thinking how I’d beat up anyone who dared to bully her
Her eyes and brows are as beautiful as a Renaissance painting, her golden hair dancing in the air.
I saw the old man on the bicycle across the street staring at us, mesmerized,
almost crashing into the railing.
This year, my job has shifted from trying to rescue her from the chaos of the open-source community to “just how many more love letters will end up in her inbox?”
Later I understood: she possesses extraordinary strength and loyalty. Those who follow her surely adore her energy too.
She is the radiant sun at dawn, while I am the star guarding her through the night. I wish for her peaceful slumber beneath the dark canopy, hoping my star will forever watch over her sleeping face with tenderness.
Sometimes I still feel a bit sorry for her admirers, because I really have her wrapped around my finger.
She is one of the internet’s countless legends, and we are the lily cat girls everyone watches. For her, I can become whatever she needs.
So I suggest anyone who still has special feelings for her can start to ship us—it’s never too late ^^;;
Anyway, she’s gorgeous, and we get along perfectly.
You know this too, Little Shark, since you sleep with us every night.
I want to cook her delicious, fragrant meals daily, paint pictures she loves, and tell her she’s as beautiful as her portraits.
I want to wear kimonos together to watch fireworks festivals, visit snowy places to soak in warm hot springs.
I want to hear her say, “Cyan, I start to love myself now.”
02
Little Shark, today I got mad at Miss Lin.
You should’ve known when I threw you between us—I was furious.
This morning was fine, actually. We cuddled for ages in bed, then took a steamy bath together with our new Lush bath bombs.
Neither of us wants to fight, yet we still get angry over things that don’t matter at all.
Then she came with me to the hospital, and we ate barbecue.
The grilled meat was so delicious I stopped being mad…
I rarely voice dissent. I used to think that was a good thing—avoiding conflict must be right, right?
Later I learned silent harmony is colorless poison.
This is the first time I’ve had so many arguments in a relationship. Maybe I never saw value in expressing opinions before, or maybe others treated me as the truth.
But Miss Lin sees me as her equal. She wants me to speak up more, to hug more.
No matter when, we always respond to each other’s “I love you” and embrace.
One day we made this promise.
So in heated arguments, we’d cry and cling to each other. When I angrily boarded a train heading away from home, I’d still reply to her that I was safe.
Yellow is a warning sign, Red is an immediate stop. It means even if I’m dissociating, but I love you.
Every couple has their own secret dictionary. Each exclusive word saves ten minutes of explanation and a whole day of arguments.
Our fights were filled with misunderstandings: rushing through English texts, her not understanding immigrant’s way of living, me projecting my trauma onto her.
Ultimately, we realized: it’s us versus the problem.
We were never enemies. We were allies solving problems together.
Miss Lin is actually very warm. Beyond wanting to hold me, she also wants me to challenge her.
She would never hurt me on purpose, nor abandon me—that’s why she always runs after me.
Perhaps because of past experiences, such security feels unbelievable to me.
So I always want to run away.
That’s why she pushed you away today, Little Shark. She embraced me from behind, and I realized I didn’t want to run.
I wanted her embrace.

Waiting at the train stop while Lina bought cake,
I spotted a plump little pigeon approaching me.
Too adorable!!!
So I tore off a tiny piece of madeleine to feed it.
Lina: Seriously? Sky: (Goes pitch black in an instant)
Suddenly, nearly a hundred pigeons poured down from the Lawson rooftop.
Me: ????????????
I bolted on the spot.
Running while chanting “Gomen nasai, gomen nasai”
Sorry, Tokyo. I’ll never feed pigeons again.
06
Little Shark, today was so much fun
Still not feeling well, fell asleep right after taking medicine
When my body aches, I really crave something sweet. Loved Sanyu soda a while back, but lately it’s all about Calpis Water.
Woke up to Miss Lin returning from the convenience store with a bag full of treats. Strawberry yogurt, strawberry cream puffs, and a whole four bottles of Calpis.
Wow, getting all the things I love. And so many of them too.
Super happy. Super love her.
08
Miss Lin: Eat this strawberry cream puff before you go.
Me: Then you eat the puff shell for me.
Miss Lin: (Eats it)
Me: (Licks off the cream)
Me: Hmm… Can’t eat anymore, you finish it.
Miss Lin: (Eats it)
Me: So obedient?
Miss Lin: …You’ve got cream on your face.
Me: (…Is she going to kiss me?)
Miss Lin: (Sticks her finger into my mouth)
Miss Lin: I’m not that easy to push around! Go change your clothes!
Me: wwww!
09
“Hmm… I just can’t sleep.”
“Come into my arms.”
She spread her arms, inviting me to lie down.
I snuggled in obediently.
Warm and fragrant. It was her scent.
She stroked my back, then gently patted my head.
My body felt tingly and numb, and I slowly closed my eyes.
When I woke again, it was early morning.
Miss Lin’s breathing was steady.
I quietly wrapped my arms around her from behind.
I adore her so much.

Due to recent upheavals and constant harassment from the backstage crew, Miss Lin and I only slept three hours last night.
Early this morning, we drove to another city to handle some business.
On the way back, we unexpectedly saw a vast sea shimmering with golden light.
Miss Lin said, “I only wanted to bring you here to see the ocean.”
I said I wanted to ride that metal slide. Miss Lin laughed and said no, that slide is dirty, please don’t act like a five-year-old.
We got out of the car anyway. I grinned mischievously and pushed her toward the slide, saying, “it’ll be clean after you slide it.”
We turned the deserted children’s park into our secret Disneyland. She pulled me onto the merry-go-round, and we spun until we couldn’t stand up straight. I slipped away to slide down the slide, and she pulled me back up after I fell flat on my face.
In that moment, we forgot everything. Like flowers and children, we savored the world’s most beautiful gift.
Life sucks. But life is also blissful.
Life is truly blissful.
